Car Brakes Are Squeaking

Car Brakes Are Squeaking - Auto Repair

A car’s brakes are among the most important parts of the vehicle.  They are the only way to stop your car or slow it down.  You may be panicking if your car brakes are squeaking.  You may be worried that something is wrong with the most important safety feature of your vehicle.  Sometimes there is cause to be worried and sometimes there isn’t.

Reasons Why Your Car Brakes Are Squeaking:

1)     Driving conditions

2)     Severe braking

3)     Humidity

4)     Worn down pads

5)     Broken anti rattle clips

How to Stop the Squeaking

The squeaking coming from your brake pads can be very annoying.  It also makes you look like a terrible driver when in reality you may not be.  You will want to fix this problem as soon as possible.  The metal rotors that are squeezed together by the brake pads sometimes vibrate and cause squeaking.

– You can always try to use a spray or lubricant to relieve the noise.

– You can also use a lotion, cream, or milk to spray on the back of the pads.

– You may also want to try to sand off anything hardening on the surface of the rotors by using a sander or sandpaper.

– You can always try to use a different type or brand of brake pad.  Having your brakes squeak is an inconvenience and you should try to fix it as soon as possible.
