Seva Call Moves to Madison - Seva Call

Madison, Wisconsin is consistently voted one of the best places to live in the United States.

And from my research…. I have to agree! Seriously, I’ve been to Madison… In the dead of winter… With 0 degree Fahrenheit temperatures… And two feet of snow.

The sledding was great! So, obviously, I am very qualified to declare the awesomeness that is Madison, Wisconsin.

Okay, maybe not me, but my lovely co-worker Madeline just so happens to attend the University of Wisconsin – Madison (that is like THE school in Wisconsin) and she loves the city as much as she loves the university. So, Madeline is here today to drop some serious knowledge about Madison, Wisconsin

Okay, Madeline from Madison. Impress me.

M: I’m from Maryland. I only go to school in Madison.

But it has such a nice ring to it. Anyway, be informative already!

M: Madison is amazing for many reasons.

Okaaaay….

M: But seriously. I know Madison is really cold in the winter, but it’s beautiful in the summer. Madison is wedged on an isthmus between Lake Mandota and Lake Manona. Everyone goes up to the Union and sits on the terrace that overlooks the lake. People go sailing and swimming and waterskiing

Isthmus is a WHAT???

M: Uh… It’s a sliver of land connecting larger land masses, in this case with water on either side.

Okay. And what about your university?

M: I love U of W – Madison. We have our own creamery called Babcock Creamery that has its own cows. The ice cream made there is amazing. I also love State Street, which runs from our library to the Capitol building and is lined with awesome restaurants and shops. Its a great college town.

Any other random facts?

M: Well, Madison is the capital of Wisconsin, and its capitol building was modeled after the DC capitol building, so that’s kind of cool I guess. We also have the country’s largest farmers market – Dane County’s Farmers Market. It goes all up and down the main road and you can find anything there. Awesome food.

And would Madison dig Seva Call?

M: Totally! Madison is full of small businesses always looking for help.

Seva Man is feeling a little lonely. Moving around from city to city with every launch is a lonely life style. He wants a companion. The question is: what kind?

He’s always been partial to huskies, with those big, beautiful, blue eyes, maybe because they remind him of his best bud Stephen Gardner. But, also like Steve, they’re too big, messy, and slobbery. No offense.

Plus, Seva Man is too innovative for mere puppies. He represents groundbreaking Seva Call, after all. So the team came up with some killer alternative pets which the founders would just love prowling around equipment. (more…)

Seva Man “Campaigns” in Chicago for Latest Launch - Seva Call

Nashville was great, but I’m ready for the big city,” Seva Man explained, as the interns loaded the Seva van with numerous orange leotards.

Luckily for Seva Man, that’s exactly where they were headed. Some call it the Windy City, some call it the Second City, some call it Chi-Town, but whatever it’s called, Seva Call is more than happy to call Chicago home away from home. Locals will be happy too! That’s 13,500 more businesses being connected to 2.7 million more consumers.

“Wow,” Seva Man said gazing up at the Willis Tower. “Look at the size of that building!”

Everywhere Seva Man went, he was telling people about Seva Call and how much time, energy, and frustration it could save them. He told Navy Pier residents how, in mere minutes, Seva Call can find them the best local professionals.

“Seva Call has this awesome algorithm,” Seva Man said. “It looks at thousands of companies and connects you to the best matches.” The algorithm uses online reviews and ratings, social media interactions, and call analytics to find the top businesses to ensure the best quality service.

Seva Man Campaigns In Chicago

The way Seva Man was pounding the pavement and Chicago’s front doors, you’d think he were campaigning for office. But, instead of arguing higher taxes vs. flat taxes, he’s strengthening businesses by providing free lead previews and connecting them to live consumers for small flat rate. Businesses can just sign up.

In between kissing babies and playing with a rambunctious black lab in Lincoln Park, Seva Man drew yet another distinction to politicians. “Our service is free for consumers and protects your privacy.”

So, if you’re in the Chicago area and need a mechanic, dentist, accountant, or anyone in one of over 50 categories, here’s what you do: Go to www.talklocal.com and enter your name, zip code, availability, and service need. Then, stand by to be connected almost instantly. No more yellow book? Now, that’s change you can believe in.

TalkLocal connects consumers in need to high-quality, top-rated, local professionals. Unfortunately, some of television’s most beloved “professionals” simply don’t apply. Here are some of the sitcom pros we’d never connect you to in real life. They may get our attention, but they won’t be getting our business. (more…)

Celebrating Sikh Centennial: Seva Call Founder Attends White House Event

Celebrating Sikh Centennial: Seva Call Founder Attends White House Event - Seva Call

In 1913, Bhagat Singh Thind came to the US in pursuit of education and opportunity. He became the first Sikh to fight alongside Americans in the armed forces (serving in World War I), but his citizenship was rescinded twice because of his race. Still, he did not let the Supreme Court decision discourage him.  He continued his education, became a religious leader and activist, and eventually became an American after a 1935 law allowed all vets to take the oath.

On July 12, 2013, 150 Indian-American business leaders came to the US in pursuit of an event celebrating the Sikh centennial. All shared Thind’s Sikh faith and strong drive, and most shared his Singh name as well. The attendees included innovators like Sunny Singh of Edifecs, Savneet Singh of Gold Button International, and Seva Call’s very own Manpreet Singh. All of these attendees epitomize Mr. Thind’s indomitable spirit, proving through their professional and personal contributions that America gains innumerable value through our acceptance of one another.

Manpreet Singh is a prime example. He became the youngest CFA charter holder in the world and got his MBA at Wharton Business School before co-founding Seva Call.

The prestigious event was organized by the Sikh Council on Religious Education, of which Manpreet Singh is an active member. The very public, symbolic embrace of the community by the Obama Administration is in stark contrast to the pervasive fear and misunderstanding Sikh’s face across the country and abroad.

To DIY Or Not to DIY: How-To Link Roundup

There are a number of dubious television shows targeting impressionable adults, pressuring them to do it themselves. No longer is parental permission and supervision advised, not even for activities involving sharp objects or choking hazards (or what toddlers like to call bite-sized), or when operating heavy machinery — their oversized peanut heads before they grow into them, for example. For years, an audience who – for social responsibility’s sake – were told “don’t try this at home,” are now being indoctrinated into a trendy self-reliance that beckons them to the unknown dangers of D.I.Y.

It is up to responsible of adults to determine whether a task is doable, too daunting, or too dangerous to “D.I.” without a trained professional. One must research to learn the requirements of the project and be capable of an honest self-assessment. Otherwise, a project can go from home addition to hospital admission. (more…)

Seva Call is Ready to Save the Day in Nashville, Tennessee - Seva Call

After stopping off to flex his guns in Memphis last week, Seva Man is driving Interstate 40 east to the capital of Tennessee – Nashville. Well, I should say that he’s going to Nashville and doing much more snoring than actual driving. He tends to leave that up to the poor interns who have to listen to his bodily noises the whole way.

Upon arriving in Nashville, Seva Man was quite concerned. “Wow,” he said. “How’d we get to Athens? I thought we were going to help Nashville residents!” This was quickly cleared up by leaving Centennial Park and taking a walk around Music Row and the Batman Building. “I’m glad we’re here,” he said. “I’m ready to save the day in Nashville!”

Saving The Day In Nashville

His wish came true — right then, a car (which looked suspiciously like the Batmobile) driving by broke down. Seva Man ran to the driver (he requested that his identity not be revealed) and quickly informed him  how Seva Call can help find him the best mechanic in mere minutes. All the driver needed to do was log onto  www.talklocal.com, enter his name, zip code, a description of the problem, and when he’s available.

Seva Call’s super algorithm then filtered through hundreds of companies in the area and connected the driver to three of the top pros that knew his problem, wanted to help on the driver’s schedule, and only paid a small flat rate for the great lead. The algorithm uses online reviews and ratings, social media interactions, and call analytics to find the top businesses, ensuring the best quality service.

Seva Call was able to get Batman…oops…back on his way without the annoyance of searching online for good reviews, only for the mechanic to be booked or out of range. He said his favorite part was that the service was free, and all of his personal information was kept confidential.

So, for all you Nashville residents, keep an eye out, because a new superhero is in town and ready to help you will all of your service needs.

A New King Enters The Memphis Scene

A New King Enters The Memphis Scene - Seva Call

“The King”: Two small words that mean so much to many Americans, but especially to those of Memphis. The city known for its influence on some of America’s greatest music genres and stars is getting a new star in town.

“I can’t believe Seva Call is launching in what was once the home of The King,” said Seva Man when he arrived in Memphis to share the benefits of Seva Call. I might add that he was jumping up and down like a groupie actually meeting Elvis for the first time as he said it.

A New King Enters The Memphis Scene

Seva Call is rocking the city that gave shape to music legends Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and BB King. Here to help everyone rock with quick and reliable services, Seva Call offers top-rated pros in more than 50 service categories like roofing, heating and cooling repair, and plumbing.

Why waste time searching up and down the Mississippi for someone to fix a leaky faucet? Seva Call will sing back-up for Memphians by searching through hundreds of the top local businesses and ranking them using top indicators such as online reviews and ratings, social media interactions, and call analytics. Seva Call will find the best pros, so you can focus on your follow-up career to The King. Memphis residents can look great without the hours of wasted time and frustration that come with traditional searching.

How does it work? Memphians need only go to, in Elvis’ words, the “super-future machine” — we call it a computer — and log onto www.talklocal.com. After placing your name, location, and service request in the space provided, sit back and relax. Seva Call does the searching in mere minutes, for free, while keeping personal information confidential.

Now you have time to perfect your hair, throw on your white, bedazzled jumpsuit, and head to Sun Studio. Good luck on that singing career!
