The best thing to do is get a drywall repair kit when you want to do a quick patch up. The toolkit usually includes 4 knives, a hammer, a screwdriver, a saw and drill. There are 3, 6, and 8 inch flex knives, a utility knife, and an inside corner knife. You may also need to get a hand sander, hacksaw, nails, and a level depending on your repair. Drywall compound, mesh tape, paper tape, and screws are obviously a must.

1. The first thing you need to do is clean up the area where the drywall needs to be repaired. Get rid of the loose edges and sand it down.

2. Dip a knife into the drywall compound and load approximately half the blade. Smooth the mixture over the damaged area with slow level strokes.

3. Remove any extra compound that is not being used. The drywall compound will shrink as it dries so you may need to apply a second coat.

If the whole is larger and cannot just be patched up you will need to use mesh and tape.

1. Clean the area similarly as before.

2. Cut the mesh to the right size and shape and attach it with the paper tape.

3. Once the mesh is securely in place you can apply the drywall compound to the mesh. Smooth the compound on evenly, also compounding the surrounding drywall so that the mesh does not fall through. Let it dry and apply a second coat if needed.

Steps For Jump Starting A Car

If your car does die, you will need to jump-start it, and perhaps replace the battery once you get to a mechanic. Steps For Jump Starting A Car

1. The number one rule when jump starting a car is to only attempt to do so with vehicles that are similar to your own. Trucks, motorcycles, cars, etc all have different voltage systems, so it could be dangerous to jump them with a different type of vehicle.

2. Furthermore you need to make sure that the red and black jumping clips do not touch. Wear glasses or a face shield to protect yourself from any sparks or gases.

3. When jumping another car you need to pull up so the hoods are facing each other and are as close as possible. This will ensure that the jumper cables will reach and be safe to use. If you cannot position the cars properly you may need to call 911 or a towing truck for help.

4. The dead car should be off and the other car running. Attach the black clip on the dead car to the negative battery post and the red clip to the positive post.

5. Connect the cables to the running car by first attaching the red clip to the positive post.

6. Connect the black clip to anything metal on the running car. Most importantly do not connect the last black clip to the battery because it will cause a spark.

7. Let the batteries charge for about 30 seconds before starting the dead car. You might need to gas it a little to load it.

8. Once the car starts up you can disconnect the cables, starting with the black clip from the source car and then the red.

9. Next disconnect the black and red from the formerly dead car. You should be able to use both cars properly now.

How To Run Linux And Windows At The Same Time

The less-than-convenient solution to such a problem is to place two computers side-by-side — one running on Linux and the other on Windows — and toggle between the two based on your needs. However, learning how to run Linux and Windows at the same time and on the same computer is ultimately the solution.

If you are trying to figure out how to run Linux and Windows at the same time, consider these methods:

1. While you certainly have your share of choices of what version of Linux to use, trying going with the popular Ubuntu. Start by downloading Ubuntu as an .iso file. This will allow you to boot it up.

2. When you download Ubuntu, either burn it onto a CD or put it on a flash drive. Either way will work and will allow you to boot the program on a new computer.

3. Once the program is stored, you can insert the CD or flash drive in a computer with Windows and boot it up right from the storage device. This does not install the program on Windows, but does let you use it.

4. To install Ubuntu on Windows, insert the CD or flash drive, open ‘Windows Explorer’ and select ‘Run wubi.exe’. After that, select ‘Install inside Windows’. The next time you boot the computer, it will boot Linux and set it up, making it available for future use.

5. Or, you could use a Virtual Machine. Many of these programs are free. It is very easy to install Ubuntu on a Virtual Machine and you won’t need to boot the program from the CD or flash drive.
